Learning English as a Second Language
Welcome, students and teachers, to the study of English as a second language. In learning how to read, write, and speak English, students are going to gain access to many jobs and other resources that would be unavailable without knowing English. Teachers of English as a second language will do the good deed of passing on life-changing knowledge to others. Our site is made to help you learn or teach the language and become fluent in English so students can take advantage of the opportunities that fluency in English will bring and teachers can gain additional tools to help them in the classroom.

Your students already know how English can be a hard language to learn, but do not give up. All you need to do is practice, practice, practice, and you too will be able to use the language with ease. Look for friends who already know English and do things with them. As you hear the language being spoken, learn how to pronounce words and this will make you more comfortable in speaking to others. Try to speak it whenever possible, even if you do not know very much English yet. Ask friends who speak English to use only English so you may practice and become more fluent.

Learning English also involves reading and writing practice, and we have many different exercises to help you become competent in these areas. We have made these exercises fun and exciting so you will not become bored practicing. Make learning English like a game you will want to practice more often. We have created games, puzzles, and other fun activities to keep you wanting to practice reading and writing the language.

Teachers, your job is to encourage students to practice as much as possible and to design lessons that will effectively teach your students the ins and outs of English. We have a multitude of resources available to help accomplish these tasks, and you are free to use them in the classroom. Your students' motivation to learn the language will hinge in large measure upon your creativity and teaching techniques. The fun projects, lesson plans, helpful worksheets, activities, quizzes and more on our site are geared to help you be the best teacher of English.

Good luck to students and teachers of English alike. May your experience with the language be joyful and may your studies be successful!
